Classes & Newsletter

Hi all - a quick note about upcoming classes. On Thursday, October 8, part two of 'Let's Start with a Runner' with Rita Brian will meet at 6:30 PM, as well as 'Improving Hand Applique' with Lisa Reber. Saturday at 10:00 AM Lisa is teaching Chenille techniques - learn three variations. The supply list for that is coming out Wednesday morning - email the shop if you need to know what to bring for any of the classes. There is room remaining in all three classes; speak to Cindy or Crystal if you have any questions.

Our ongoing refocusing sale continues in October with 30% off bolted fabric on the first floor, plus books and patterns. Come see what's still available!

Pictures from Spring Market

Finally there is time to post some of our pictures from our trip to Spring Market 2009 in Pittsburgh. Lisa took most of them, so these show her slant on things.

Crystal pauses to take a look before market opens.

After Sample Spree: Crystal really likes this one!

Here's a look at the 'Permission to Play' line by Lunn Design for Robert Kaufman. Check out the vest made of the fabric. This is just one colorway of many.

View from above during setup, of Farmer John's Market. We brought home lots of neat veggie fabrics from them!

Stampede at the start of Sample Spree.

Lisa and Jodi Davis from QNNtv.com during the filming of Lisa's commercial for DippyDyes. (Cindy took this one - thanks!)

Ivan has fiendishly created two of Lisa on the small screen.

What a hoot! Couldn't pass Fabio by, in an apron, no less!

Kaffe Fassett is hooking a rug in his booth. The quilts made from his fabrics are great in person!

A photo of the wind farm along the turnpike on the trip home. We got to see one of the blades for a wind turbine on a loooooong flatbed truck on our way out.

The haul, just like Christmas morning. In addition, we learned a lot - we all took as many classes as we could fit in, and what we learned will help make Quilters' Remedy even better for all of you! Look for a survey soon so we can get your feedback. Thanks.

Dear Customers,
Thank you for your patronage. We will be venturing out to
Pittsburgh for Quilt Market May 14th-17th so stop in and visit
Rita who will be at the shop to help everyone! While at Quilt
Market we hope to learn a great deal and bring back lots of
useful information to help us enhance our shop in order to
better serve you, our devoted customer’s needs. However, if we
do not have success in reaching your needs; we will regretfully
need to change our store hours to help cut costs. We are truly
sorry for any inconvenience. We will make a final decision by
the end of June whether our hours of operation will be decreasing
or staying the same. e next step in this process will be
closing the store completely if business does not pick up. We
understand that this world is tough for everyone and we thank
all of you who have visited us. Please don’t forget we are here
and will continue to be as long as we are able.
ank you again.
Sincerely,
Cindy Pedersen & Crystal Landis

Stash Busters Block of the Month

If you need help using up pieces of fabric, whether they are scraps or
larger pieces, this is a great way to create a fun, scrappy block of the
month quilt! This BOM will start in June and run through December.
Each month you will receive one piece of fabric and a pattern
to create a block; you need to add pieces from your stash and by the
end of December hopefully your stash will not be busting out
anymore! See store for more information.

Celebrate National
Cancer Survivors Day

by making “Reach to Recovery” Bags

We are participating in Reach to Recovery; they create tote bags
that are donated locally to women battling breast cancer. _e
bags each contain a small pillow that helps ease the pain of
lymph node dissection and comfort those going through
treatment.
Each bag uses a 12” block (if slightly smaller it can be adapted)
and ¾ yard of fabric for the rest of the bag and the pillow. _e
organization will provide the stuffng for the pillows. What we
need from you are blocks, yardage, and your time. Any one can
help; you do not need to know how to sew to help with this.
We need people cutting, stuffng, and sewing. On Saturday,
June 13th, any time between 10am and 5pm, please join us for
this project. You can come and go; so if you have 30 minutes
and that’s all, great! No one will be turned away! If you would
like to make them at home, stop in for a pattern!
What we need from YOU:
• 12” Blocks
• ¾ of a yard of fabric or fat quarters
• Your Time
What we will give you from June 3rd-13th:
• Donate 12” blocks, ¾ yard pieces of fabric or at least 3 fat quarters
• You will receive a coupon good on a purchase through June 27th!
Please help give back!
(Please note that the fabric does not have to be from a quilt shop,
all fabric in good condition is great for this cause)
